“Bradley University is recognized for, among other things, its remarkable engineering program. What may get overlooked is what I valued the most–the personal, caring connection the BU faculty makes with its students and the thorough instruction students receive. When you graduate from Bradley, you are prepared to start your career on day one. I'm proud to have earned my degree there and know that the work I do at Caterpillar is foundational to the knowledge I gained at Bradley.”
— Tana Utley ’86,
Caterpillar Chief Technology Officer & Vice President of Caterpillar's Technology & Solutions Division
Our Commitment
The Caterpillar Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Caterpillar, will match Cat employees’, directors’, and retirees’ gifts to Bradley dollar-for-dollar up to $2.5 million per year over the five years of the Campaign. There is no cap on the size of an individual’s gift, and all Caterpillar employees, directors, and retirees qualify for the match. The match will continue for five years or until a total of $9 million is reached.

The Caterpillar Foundation also is extending a second $9 million challenge to other individuals and employers to attract major “new” financial gifts for the College of Engineering and Technology, the Foster College of Business Administration and overall campaign support. This match will be paid on a one-to-one basis but not exceed $2.5 million in any one year. There is no cap on the size of an individual’s gift. The match will continue for five years or until the $9 million goal is met.
All eligible gifts made to Bradley (including those made in 2007) count toward the overall $9 million goal. However, we would hope you would consider a special contribution to the capital campaign.
Your participation is completely voluntary, and the size of your contribution is entirely up to you. Whether you contribute, and how much, is confidential, unless otherwise specified.
The Caterpillar Foundation has pledged $9 million to match employee, retiree and director gifts for the Campaign for a Bradley Renaissance. All eligible gifts of $25 or more (payments not pledges) will be matched for the full amount until the $9 million goal is reached.
Your gift is tax deductible to the fullest extent provided by law, and you will receive a receipt for tax purposes.
The Caterpillar Foundation will match your gifts made to the campaign as long as you are
an employee or retiree.
You may make a cash gift, life income arrangement or bequest—or combine several forms of giving. To maximize your support, consider all forms of giving to the Campaign for a Bradley Renaissance. For your convenience, you can make your gift online. Go>
Donors giving $100 or more are routinely listed in Bradley’s annual President’s Report, grouped by giving societies. The names of all Caterpillar donors also will appear on a separate list in thePresident’s Report, and the University will provide a prominent on-campus display listing Caterpillar donors of $25,000 and above. If you specify that your gift be anonymous, your name will not be published.
While facilities are among the greatest current needs of the University, you may give to the Campaign in general (unrestricted) or designate your gift for a department, college or other area of interest. However, the matching gift from the Caterpillar Foundation will be directed to the Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology and Foster College of Business Administration.
Yes. There are many opportunities for gifts in memory or in honor of someone. Contact the Office of Advancement at Bradley for details.
All gifts to Bradley University made during the five years of the Campaign will be counted as campaign gifts, including gifts to WCBU (which is licensed by Bradley).
The Caterpillar Foundation’s special matching gift program is designed for campaign gifts from employees and retirees. Surviving spouses are not eligible. However, another component of the Foundation pledge is a $9 million challenge for community and individual gifts. A surviving spouse would qualify for that portion of the pledge.
